Can we bring CHANGE using INTERNET ?
These days we often talk computer and internet are the latest medium and most effective medium to bring revolution or a change. In some countries it proves right but have you ever think is it true for our country?
Its a bad thing about us we used to follow everything without knowing sometime just follow the trends or sometime we want to show how socially responsible we are.
The biggest example of this is the JAN-LOKPAL BILL everywhere from facebook to twitter from blogs and everything we had posts about jan lokpal and corruption.
Its another irony most of the people who share articles and posts about it don't know about it they just follow
i have seen and observe this thing there are people around me who just like to read page three of news paper or the sports page they don't know and don't care about what is this bill and what its significance in our country and why anna hazare and his team doing so much struggle about it. They just follow the trend and when they post something about it they thought now i become a socially responsible person of country
but the truth is they just follow what we call a in thing only. There are lots of problems but they hell don't care about it. but my artice is not about those socially responsible person its about can we bring revolution or pass this jan lok pal bill or remove corruption by just using internet and computer? Before taking this thing further i want to share some facts here
POPULATION OF INDIA
1,18,8,283496
NO. OF INTERNET USERS
100,000,000 Internet users as of Dec/10
ACTIVE USERS
28% =2 CR 80 L
PEOPLE WHO KNOW ENGLISH
225,226,449
(all stats are aprox )
So when we look at these stats we come to know we have nearly 1.2 billion population and a mere 22-23% know english language and its a known fact if you want to use computer and access internet you have to know english
and beside this we have 1 cr active internet users and only 28% of them are actively use it so can we think about a change with the help of 2-3 cr people?
I don't think so but the problem is nobody wants to accept it as if i say news papers or print media and television are most influenced medium to bring the change.
Have you ever thought why corrupt and criminal kind of people win election more than once because they use the best medium to communicate they go to the people and talk to them in form of JAN SAMPARK PUBLIC RALLIES .
In india or anywhere else a person trust someone who talk to them straightly more than the one who use media or internet.
so if we want to change something we have to talk to people not to share on internet.
I am sure when i post this on my blog people will say if you think like this why you post it on internet so dear friends when ever i write about any social issue i write it on paper , talk about it with people personally.
and use internet as a part of communication not totally dependent on it. so next time when you have a view or opinion just talk , people feel more comfortable and listen when you address them directly.
Just give it a thought
"Electric communication will never be a substitute for the face of someone who with their soul encourages another person to be brave and true and bring the change."
Charles Dickens
P.S. this article is written in Hindi too but some of my educated friends are not good in reading the national language so i post it in English
